For the turmeric oatmeal bowl:
1 medium, ripe banana
1 cup of rolled oats
1 cup of oat milk
1 cup of water
Pinch of salt
Pinch of cinnamon
1 TBS maple syrup
1 tsp turmeric and black pepper
For the topping caramelised bananas:
1 TBS plant based butter
2 1-2 ripe bananas ( sliced in round or in long halves)
3 3 Tbs brown sugar
For the turmeric oatmeal bowl:
1. In a small saucepan, mash the banana with a fork.
2. Add all remaining ingredients ( besides the turmeric and black pepper powder )
3. Bring to a simmer and cook until thick and creamy, stirring occasionally. It will take 10-15 minutes.
4. Then add the Turmeric powder , top with caramelised bananas and pecan , chia seeds , cacao nibs.
Serve warm.
For the topping caramelised bananas:
1. Melt butter in a small skillet on medium heat , once melted add the sugar and the banana.
2. Stir continuously to coat the bananas in the brown sugar and butter. The brown sugar should melt almost immediately.
3. Keep stirring for about 3 minutes or until the caramel sauce thickens.
4. Remove from the heat as soon as it thickens as it can quickly burn if kept on the heat for too long,
Serve immediately.
